Responsibilities
  • Lead a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
  • Provide front-line leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving all office-related growth objectives.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates, and advance your knowledge and skills to excel with us.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
  • Create associate work schedules, ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
  • Prepare tax returns, as required.
  • Conduct timely performance reviews and partner with the Associate Relations Center to resolve issues and address performance concerns.
What you'll bring to the team
  • Partner with the District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, develop local partnerships, and manage office community involvement.
  • Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office associate positions.
  • Serve as point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns and ensure clients are scheduled properly with conflicts resolved.
  • Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute on Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Lead daily activities to ensure work is completed according to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Prepare tax returns as needed and ensure compliance with timelines.
  • Demonstrate independence with minimal supervision and a customer-centric mindset.
Your Expertise
  • Prior experience in customer service, shift leadership, or a similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
  • Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • Computer proficient with MS Office and ability to work independently.
  • Flexible work schedule and adaptability to business needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
