The Park Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors to Arkansas state parks.

Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining lodges, cabins, restrooms, visitor centers, and other park facilities while adhering to state sanitation and safety regulations.

• Clean and sanitize cabins, lodges, restrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Dust, mop, vacuum, sweep, and disinfect floors, furniture, and fixtures.
• Empty trash, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste.
• Replenish toiletries, paper products, and other supplies as needed.
• Perform laundry duties such as separating soiled laundry, operating washers and dryers, and folding laundry.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report low inventory to supervisors.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals following safety guidelines.
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and power washers.
• Address visitor questions or concerns regarding facilities and cleanliness.
• Report maintenance issues such as plumbing leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards.
• Follow OSHA safety standards for cleaning procedures and chemical usage.
• Ensure compliance with state sanitation and environmental regulations.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and special cleaning assignments as directed.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as required by facility needs.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and cleaning procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of safety and health regulations related to cleaning and sanitation.
• Good communication skills for reporting issues or asking for guidance from supervisors.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Problem‑solving skills to identify and report facility concerns.

• At least six months of experience in housekeeping, custodial services, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions.
• Demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
