The maintenance role is integral to the smooth and successful operations of the entire campus including maintaining a clean campus environment for our students and staff. They are heavily involved in supporting the safe, smooth, and successful day-to-day operations of the school.
Maintenance is expected to be committed and exemplify the values of the school district. These values are fundamental to creating and maintaining a positive environment for all individuals they engage within the community and/or the school. Maintenance maintains a calm and professional demeanor at all times in a fast-paced and diverse school community. The ability to handle unpleasant situations in a cool, calm demeanor is essential to this position.
Must be a team player who is able to adapt to change quickly and understands the importance of faithfulness in all things with an eye for attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Primary duty will be to monitor and maintain all plumbing systems throughout the district
- Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures at all times
- Complies with and supports school regulations and policies
- Reports all accidents or potential hazards to the Director of Maintenance immediately
- Demonstrate ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Uses and wears safety and/or protective equipment as appropriate
- Maintain school buildings and grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district facilities and grounds
- Prepare materials, construct, modify, and perform major/minor repair of structures and equipment
- Ability to initiate and complete work orders
- Ability to read chemical and material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Works well with others and independently, with strong time management skills
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including significant lifting (50 lbs. or more), carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and walking
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete tasks
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Ability to work in all conditions (inside/outside)
- Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor
