Provides supportive services necessary for the unit operations so that optimal quality care can be delivered. Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager performing essential non-clinical administrative functions on one or more units. Performs fiscal management, inventory/stock control, documentation, charge entry, and record keeping, serving as a liaison with other departments as well as performing general clerical tasks. Position located at University Hospital.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or GED. 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Meets mandatory health and education requirements.
- Maintains knowledge related to scheduling and payroll/timekeeping issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols.

Required Qualifications:
Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 months experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service. Some positions require one year related medical secretarial experience or completion of an associate's degree program with three courses in medical terminology plus 3 months experience (300 hours training) in use of word processing equipment, consistent with position description.
Some positions require 6 months experience (600 hrs course work) in supervision consistent with position description.
