The Special Asset Judgement Specialist is responsible for filing judgments, renewing judgments, and collecting recoveries through garnishment, settlements, or working with third‑party debt collectors. This position handles the collection of all unsecured collections or deficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- 1. Facilitate payment arrangements.
- 2. Review, organize, and file documentation for collection purposes.
- 3. Monitor and track settlement agreements for monthly payments.
- 4. File and renew judgments.
- 5. Update judgment tracking and reports.
- 6. Assist third party debt collectors with collection calls, settlements and recoveries.
- 7. Cross train and assist Special Assets Collector with collection calls.
- 8. Research and make recommendations for avenues of recovery.
- 9. Monitor and collect past due business credit cards. This duty is performed weekly.
- 10. Perform quality assurance reviews. This duty is performed as needed.
- 11. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
- 12. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
- 13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and ExperienceKnowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication SkillsAbility to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person‑to‑person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Critical Thinking SkillsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
