Role Description /Criteria
Iona College Geelong is seeking a passionate and innovative Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic secondary teaching team on a Parental Leave replacement position from term 2, until the end of the year. At Iona College, we are committed to fostering a learning environment that inspires curiosity, creativity and excellence. We are looking for an educator who can deliver engaging and contemporary Food Technology classes that equip students with practical skills, critical thinking and an understanding of nutrition, sustainability and food systems.
About the RoleThe successful applicant will:
- Teach Food Technology across Years 7–12
- Design and deliver engaging, hands‑on learning experiences in a well‑equipped kitchen environment.
- Integrate contemporary food trends, nutrition principles and sustainability practices into the curriculum.
- Foster safe food handling practices in line with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the College.
You will:
- Hold current VIT registration (or be eligible for registration).
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum.
- Be an enthusiastic and collaborative educator with excellent classroom management skills.
- Show a commitment to child safety and student wellbeing.
- Support the ethos and values of a Catholic school community.
