OverviewAt Arkansas Early Learning (AEL), we believe every child deserves an opportunity to succeed. AEL serves vulnerable children ages birth to five and their families through Early Head Start and Head Start programs across Arkansas.
As an Assistant Teacher in the Head Start program, you will work collaboratively with staff to provide comprehensive Head Start services, create rich learning opportunities, and support each child’s development and education.
ResponsibilitiesThe Head Start Program Assistant will:
- Assist in creating and implementing daily learning routines that build on children’s development.
- Support staff in delivering a child‑centered curriculum and providing developmental observations.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing environment for all children and families.
- 18 years old or older.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current Pre‑K Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or willing to obtain through our program at no cost within two years.
- Enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate program in Early Childhood Education.
Arkansas Early Learning offers a full‑time schedule with weekends off, 26 paid days off in the first year, competitive pay, paid training, and a benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, life, and more. The position is full time for nine months of the year, with furlough from May to August.
