Job SummaryThe Facility Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating all Facility Maintenance tasks related to maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and sanitation of Kan Pak grounds, roads, walks and buildings. Under both written and verbal instructions, work is performed considerably independently within established procedures while exercising some decision making about the details of the work.
Responsibilities- Coordinate Kan Pak Quality activities and operations to meet objective for quality, food safety, integrity, regulatory compliances, cost, safety and customer satisfaction at Kan Pak
- Participate in formulating and administering division’s short and long range goals and objectives for business growth
- Ensure all Facility Maintenance employees on shift follow strict company policies and safety procedures
- Maintain capability to fill in as Facility Maintenance Technician as needed
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance efforts, support production schedules and address facility-related needs
- Monitor facility maintenance activities and adjust plans as necessary to minimize downtime
- Lead, mentor and train facility maintenance staff to ensure effective performance and adherence to safety protocols
- Ensure that all facility maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to high‑quality standards
- Schedule and monitor contractors for Air Handling, small construction (walls, painting, plumbing and flooring) in conjunction with Engineering and Maintenance
- Perform a variety of semi‑skilled and skilled work in the maintenance or repair of Kan Pak buildings and grounds including roofs, siding and walls
- Safe work practices
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions of the building maintenance trades
- Ensure that snow removal and salting of facilities and access ways is completed per company policy
- Verify that all work orders regarding the inspection of emergency lights, fire extinguishers, hand washing stations, and emergency eye wash and shower stations are completed per company policy
- Performs other work‑related duties as assigned
- Maintain compliance with Kan Pak/GSF Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, management systems, and all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety and other regulations
- Act according to Kan Pak’s Creed & Values
- High School Graduate
- Must Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
- Be able to estimate time, and materials needed to perform maintenance, construction and repair jobs
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn new skills and techniques
- Six months to one year experience in food industry
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Building and Grounds Maintenance

Must be able to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance, to transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to pick‑up from vendors and deliver stock and materials to customers upon request, to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials (must be able to climb a step ladder at a minimum three feet in height and to work from a lift up to twenty feet in height
