How you will enjoy your day:

Greet and welcome guests at the Trail House. Be knowledgeable in the art of axe throwing and safety and explain the rules to the guest(s) before demonstrating the art of throwing an axe. The instructor will be trained and required to practice and perfect the activity before being assigned to a guest reservation.

Work performed and responsibilities:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled activity to welcome guests at the Trail House
  • Ensure all participants have signed an Axe Throwing Waiver and meet minimum age requirement
  • Show the guest the pre-settlement ticket prior to departing to the Axe Throwing location
  • Explain the rules of axe throwing to the guest(s) before demonstrating the activity
  • Understand the rules, standard operating procedures, and safety of Axe Throwing
  • Basic understanding of the Activities Department including but not limited to Camp Coyote, Tennis & Pickleball Lessons, Artist Cottage and Arts & Culture programs, Special Events, Hike and Bike tours, Grand Canyon Tours, and Rock-Climbing Adventures
  • Use good judgement by acting in the best interest of the company
  • Be available on-call based upon occupancy and availability
  • Make sound and safe decisions that first take into consideration the safety and welfare of the guest, staff, and the resort
  • Monitor weather conditions with an emphasis on extreme heat, lightning, ice/snow, and rain. Be aware of surrounding wildlife
  • Complete sessions on time with accuracy without direct supervision
  • Responsible for guests’ safety when providing axe throwing techniques
  • Leave the signed pre-settlement ticket with the Trail House Ambassador before the shift is over
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Passion for outdoor adventure and Axe Throwing
  • Must have strong verbal communication and people skills
  • Must be able to accurately throw an axe into a target
  • Excellent team member relations skills
  • Must be able to maintain current CPR and first aid certification
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
