Location: Williams
Under supervision performs social or health service work of routine difficulty in providing in-home services, transportation services, or delivering "meals on wheels" to eligible clients.
The ideal candidate has a kind heart and a passion for serving homebound older adults in our community.
This is a temporary on-call position.

- Provides assistance to eligible clients which may include household duties, chores and errands in the community, transporting passengers to appointments
- Reports unusual circumstances or problems observed with clients
- May handle small amounts of money for client shopping and laundry
- May handle donations
- May provide social and emotional support and services as an advocate for recognized client needs
Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: driving; sitting to drive van; working with and around others; communicating with team members, clients, etc.; vision acuity (near and far) for driving; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation. Environmental factors include; driving in all types of weather; exposure to weather while delivering meals to client's homes; outside driving route 90% of time.
One year experience in assigned area; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must obtain an Arizona driver's license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment. Final job offer will be contingent upon a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSMeals on Wheels Drivers must have Food handler's certificate.
Home Care and Respite Aides must acquire first aide and CPR certification within six months of employment. May need to be certified in the State of Arizona as a Nurse Aide; may be fingerprinted as a condition of employment.
PREFERENCEBilingual English/Spanish or English/Navajo
Familiarity with Flagstaff and the surrounding area.
This position is safety sensitive.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.

- Needs and problems of disabled, elderly and low-income individuals

- Knowledge of health codes relating to assigned area
- Safe driving techniques, including traffic and safety rules
- Routine vehicle maintenance
- Geographic area in and around Flagstaff and/or Page or Williams, AZ
- Record keeping
- Proper lifting techniques
- Operating a vehicle in adverse weather conditions
- Effectively handle lifting of up to fifty pounds
- Maintain patience in adverse situations
- Demonstrate emotional maturity
- React to client crises by calling 9-1-1, Adult Protective Services or case manager as required by the situation
- Handle and record cash and check donations
Apply basic safety methods for staff and client - Recognize and report patient’s health status
- Work with culturally diverse population
- Provide transportation service to the public, including elderly and handicapped individuals
- Recognize hazardous driving conditions
- Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
- Follow written and verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
