Travel: Frequent between AZ and CA (approx. 60/40 split)

The Irrigation & Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing all irrigation systems across our Arizona and California farming operations. This includes center‑pivot systems (AZ), solid‑set systems (CA), and deep‑well infrastructure. The role combines agronomic experience with mechanical expertise to ensure our crops receive precise, reliable water delivery and our irrigation assets remain in top condition.
Key Responsibilities System Maintenance & Infrastructure Care- Oversee daily inspection and preventive maintenance of center‑pivot and solid‑set systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with pumps, gearboxes, motors, electrical panels, and control systems.
- Proactively manage well health – monitor pressures, flow rates, sand content, and electrical loads.
- Implement maintenance logs and protocols to reduce downtime and avoid catastrophic failures.
- Coordinate third‑party service providers for well, pump, or electrical work as needed.
- Collaborate with agronomists and farm managers on crop‑specific irrigation strategies.
- Execute irrigation schedules developed by the agronomy team.
- Monitor irrigation performance and adjust timing, flow, and duration to maximize crop health and yield.
- Track irrigation water use efficiency and support sustainability initiatives.
- Support general maintenance of tractors, sprayers, and other farm machinery during non‑irrigation periods.
- Maintain spare‑parts inventory and recommend capital improvements to irrigation systems.
- Train seasonal irrigation staff or operators on standard operating procedures and maintenance basics.
- 7+ years of experience in irrigation management or farm infrastructure maintenance, preferably with both center‑pivot and solid‑set systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to maintain and repair irrigation and well systems.
- Working knowledge of crop irrigation principles and agronomic impacts of water management.
- Ability to diagnose and prevent common well and pump failures (e.g., sand ingestion, overcycling, bowl wear).
- Comfortable working independently across multiple sites and climates.
- Excellent recordkeeping and organizational skills.
- CDL or farm‑equipment operation experience a plus.
- $65,000
- 10 days of PTO & 9 company paid holidays.
