We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wood-Fired Pizza Cook (Pizzaiolo) to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality wood-fired pizzas while maintaining the integrity of traditional techniques, speed of service, and kitchen cleanliness. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook pizzas in a wood-fired oven, maintaining proper temperature, fire control, and timing
- Stretch dough by hand and assemble pizzas according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Monitor oven heat, manage wood supply, and maintain safe fire practices
- Execute consistent, high-quality pizzas during high-volume service
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with health codes
- Assist with prep work including dough, sauces, toppings, and mise en place
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
- Contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture
- Previous experience as a pizza cook or wood-fired oven cook required
- Knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, and wood-fired cooking techniques
- Ability to work in high heat and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working near high-temperature ovens
- Ability to stand, bend, and move quickly during service
