The Grand Canyon South Rim spans 278 miles of the Colorado River and surrounding uplands, situated on ancestral lands of 11 Tribal Communities. The Grand Canyon offers extraordinary erosion features and breathtaking vistas. As a Bike Tour Guide, you will provide bike safety instructions, maintain equipment, guide tours, and offer local insights about routes.
Duties and Responsibilities- Guide and support guests during bike tours.
- Ensure bikes and equipment are properly maintained and prepared.
- Achieve technical proficiency in bike building, repair, maintenance, and safety through company‑provided training.
- Welcome guests with a warm and friendly smile while delivering exceptional bike‑rental customer service.
- Be knowledgeable about the park, local landmarks, and historical sites.
- Ensure that bikes are properly stowed and cleaned in the storage area at the end of day.
- Exhibit professional behavior when communicating with guests and fellow employees.
- Assist in the retail gift store, convenience store, and deli when requested.
- Support and understand all safety and environmental requirements.
- Understand company ISO management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives, and meet responsibilities within these areas.
- Actively participate in creating a positive work environment, promoting teamwork.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service and people skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Ability to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Position involves frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting. Majority of shift will be spent cycling or on feet, up to 8 hours per day in a fast‑paced environment.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Prior tour guiding experience preferred.
