Application Tips Responsibilities- Prepare animals in the care of the Animal Control Department for adoption by the public, coordinate health testing, vaccination, alteration, grooming, and adoption, take animals to adoption events, help public with decision making, and answer questions under basic supervision. Work with various animal rescue organizations to include trap, neuter, and release programs. Work within guidelines of rescue contracts approved through the Board of Supervisors and work with volunteers and the media.
- Prepare animals for adoption, coordinate vaccinating, bathing, grooming, temperament testing, paperwork, and contracts.
- Transport animals for surgery, both at the shelter and off site and assist the Technician and Doctor as needed.
- Take an assortment of animals to local adoption events, assist public with adoption of animal by answering questions, filling out paperwork, taking payments, and helping to socialize animals to new environment.
- Work extensively with various rescue organizations.
- Work extensively with media, to include but not limited to, social and print media.
- Assist with preparations when a scheduled euthanasia list is necessary.
- Assist with cleaning duties as needed.
- Work with volunteers, community service workers, and inmate labor.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
