  School Nurse

A registered nurse (RN) or equivalent, who advances students' well-being, academic success, and safety by providing direct healthcare, managing chronic conditions such as diabetes/asthma, administering medication, conducting health screenings like vision/hearing, and controlling communicable diseases.

• Direct Care and Emergencies:
  Assess, treat, and manage injuries and illnesses of students and staff, initiate care protocols.
• Chronic Conditions Management:
  Create and implement individualized Healthcare Plans for students with chronic conditions.
• Medication and Procedures:
  Administer daily or emergency medications according to school board policies and state laws.
• Health Screenings and Records:
  Conduct mandatory screenings (vision, hearing) and maintain student immunization records to ensure compliance.
• Disease Prevention:
  Monitor for communicable diseases, ensure approximate exclusion, and promote healthy habits.
• Education and Counseling:
  Provide health education, counseling, and resources to students and families.

• Active Registered Nurse RN License or Equivalent
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing prefered.
• Must have a valid Fingerprint Card.

• Often requires standing, walking, siting, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Functions independently in "clinic" setting, often managing student visits.
