Duration

3 months contract

Shift Schedule

Day, Evening, Weekend, Holidays as required;
Shift length may be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on clinic needs;
As scheduled by the Nursing Supervisor based on clinic workload and vaccination demand. Exact number varies; full‑time coverage expected during clinic operations.

Credentialing / Onboarding time

6 weeks to 8 weeks

License
  • Current, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license;
    License must be from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, U.S. territory, or Puerto Rico
Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required
Experience Needed
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience with adult and pediatric populations required
Special Skills Needed
  • Vaccine administration (IM, subcutaneous, pediatric dosing)
  • Infection control and patient safety practices
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation
  • IV therapy and venipuncture
  • Pain management
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to American Indian and Alaska Native populations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow federal, IHS, and facility-specific clinical protocols
Responsibilities
  • Provide vaccination‑related nursing services in accordance with IHS and GIMC policies
  • Administer vaccines safely to adult and pediatric patients
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EHR
  • Follow HIPAA, Privacy Act, and patient confidentiality requirements
  • Adhere to nursing standards, scope of practice, and ethical guidelines
  • Participate in mandatory orientation, competency validation, and facility training
  • Comply with infection control, emergency procedures, and safety protocols
  • Coordinate with Nursing Supervisor regarding schedules, absences, and coverage
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and respectful care delivery
  • Maintain required immunizations and health clearances throughout assignment
