Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open‑pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, a crushed‑ore leach pad and stacking system, a low‑grade run‑of‑mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

• Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for the assigned work unit.
• Implement production plans according to approved schedule.
• May participate in the full range of daily operational duties and perform the most difficult tasks.
• Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify problem areas, and direct remedial action.
• Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
• Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and materials; approve purchase requisitions and maintain use reports.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets for crews.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma or GED and at least five years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining‑related discipline with at least one summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in mining or an industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience.
