Position: Janitorial Days/Nights

Company: Merchants Building Maintenance, LLC

Janitors are responsible for performing all-purpose cleaning and preservation of an assigned area. The assigned area could be a building, hospital, warehouse, shopping mall or other facility. Exact tasks are not definite; must be flexible in performing assigned duties as directed by a Supervisor.

• Empty and clean all waste containers
• Stock restrooms with paper supplies and hand soap
• Handle emergency clean ups such as bodily fluids and waste
• Remove waste paper, garbage and recycling from the premises to designated areas; damp wipe containers
• Empty and clean all ashtrays; monitor supply and restore as required
• Dust all image frames, charts, graphs and wall hangings
• Damp dust/clean ceilings, air ducts, partitions, and vents
• Dust outside surfaces of light fixtures, glass and plastic enclosures
• Vacuum all mats and carpeted areas in workplace, lobbies and corridors
• Hand dust and clean all office furnishings, files, fixtures, paneling, window sills and flat surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness of slop sink rooms
• Wipe, clean, buff and polish metal fixtures
• Clean tile floor surfaces as required
• Follow all safety and company policies
• Damp wipe and buff glass furnishings
• Dust and/or wash index boards; remove fingerprints and smudges
• Clean entry door glass indoors and on the outer surface
• Brush or dust mop restroom and common area floors
• Clean or damp mop exterior entry areas
• Remove stains from vertical surfaces (doors, door frames, light switches, glass, dividers)
• Wash, clean, and sanitize water coolers/refrigerators
• Maintain stairways and vacuum carpeted areas as needed
• Monitor and clean up spills in office and community areas
• Disinfect all touch points and areas as required

• Good verbal communication skills
• Able to work well with all levels of employees and managers
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Ability to perform the job with minimal supervision
• Regular and timely attendance
