Job OverviewWe are looking for a proactive Snowflake Database Administrator (DBA) with 1–5 years of experience in managing and optimizing Snowflake environments. The candidate will be responsible for administration, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and ensuring high availability of Snowflake data warehouse systems. This role requires expertise in Snowflake’s architecture, strong SQL skills, and cloud data platform experience.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, monitor, and maintain Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production.
- Manage user roles, access control, and security policies in Snowflake.
- Perform query optimization, workload management, and performance tuning to ensure efficient data operations.
- Monitor storage usage, warehouses, credit consumption, and implement cost optimization strategies.
- Ensure high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies are in place.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to support ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations.
- Automate administrative tasks using Snowflake utilities, scripting (Python/SQL), and cloud-native tools.
- Manage Snowflake upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts.
- Implement data governance, compliance, and audit controls.
- Troubleshoot system issues, user queries, and provide root cause analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience as a Snowflake DBA or Data Platform Administrator.
- Strong expertise in Snowflake administration, security, and performance tuning.
- Hands‑on experience in role‑based access control (RBAC), warehouses, micro‑partitions, and clustering.
- Solid SQL skills with the ability to analyze and optimize complex queries.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their integration with Snowflake.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Cloud Watch, Splunk, or similar).
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, dbt, Talend, Matillion, etc.).
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Experience in Python, Shell scripting, or automation frameworks.
- Exposure to data security frameworks (encryption, masking, GDPR/CCPA compliance).
- Knowledge of Dev Ops/CI‑CD pipelines for data environments.
- Familiarity with other cloud data warehouses (Big Query, Redshift, Synapse).
