We are embarking on a major investment to reimagine product insights, marketing analytics, self-serve insights, and experimentation at The Economist Group (TEG) with Amplitude Platform. This role sits at the very heart of that transformation. As a Digital Analytics Implementation Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how our organisation captures, structures, and leverages data to drive smarter decisions, better customer experiences, and faster experimentation.

As a Lead Digital Analytics Implementation Specialist, you'll lead the strategy, planning, and execution of digital analytics implementations, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights across all digital channels to drive business growth and inform data-driven decisions.

You will lead initiatives in tools architecture and collaborate closely with
Product Owners, Data Research & Insights, Marketing as well as Retention/Engagement teams, UX designers, and front end developers to enhance the digital experience for our customers and drive business growth through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.

Embedded within an excellent, highly collaborative and supportive data, research and insights focused team. You will lead and grow the digital data analytics platform within the Economist Group.

How you will contribute in this role:
  • Lead the design, setup, and governance of event tracking and data pipelines within Amplitude.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and marketers to ensure accurate, consistent, and scalable instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain a best-practice tracking plan that aligns with business goals and supports experimentation.
  • Define clear taxonomies, naming conventions, and documentation for analytics events.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify analytics needs and translate them into robust implementation requirements.
  • Champion self-serve analytics by ensuring the right data is in place for teams to answer their own questions.
Experimentation Enablement
  • Work closely with product and marketing teams to set up, track, and measure experiments in Amplitude.
  • Ensure that experimentation results are accurate, reproducible, and actionable.
Data Quality & Assurance
  • Monitor and validate data integrity, ensuring accuracy and reliability for downstream analysis and reporting.
  • Establish testing protocols and QA processes for all new implementations.
Amplitude Platform - Training and Support
  • Regular updates and maintenance of tracking systems, ensuring ongoing data accuracy and reliability.
  • Keeping Analytics Platform up to date and socialising new launched features with a clear use case to be adopted.
  • Own the Training and onboarding of teams across TEG on the analytics platform to enable self serve widely.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Amplitude Platform requests and needs.
What we’re looking for:
  • Proven experience in digital analytics implementation, ideally with Amplitude or similar platforms (Mixpanel, GA4, Adobe Analytics, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of event-based analytics, tagging plans, and tracking frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in data governance.
