Assistant Human Resources Manager – Dollar Tree

Works as an integral part of the Human Resources Department providing support in all HR related functions. Works closely with Human Resources Manager supporting organization growth, development, and change.
Salary$70,000 - $75,000 per year
Essential Job Functions- Recruit and hire qualified hourly associates to ensure DC is adequately staffed at all times.
- Present New Associate Orientation Program.
- Conduct Two Week New Hire Follow-up meetings.
- Maintain and update Wage & Benefits Survey Information
- Ensure associate files are compliant with company and legal requirements
- Prepare Weekly DC Stats.
- Editor of monthly newsletter
- Coordinate associate relations meetings (i.e., birthday meetings, picnics, associate appreciation meals, service recognition)
- DOT compliance for yard jockeys
- Conduct associate exit interviews and identify and communicate recurring problems or issues.
- Administer and monitor DC Drug Testing Program.
- Conduct 401(k) and ESPP quarterly informational associate mini meetings.
- Maintain Associate Calendar.
- Maintain Associate Bulletin Boards ensuring required posting are up-to-date.
- Provide employee relations support on all shifts.
- Report any identified issues to the HR Manager.
- Prepare reports and/or queries as needed.
- In the absence of the HR Manager, represent distribution center at personnel related hearings and investigations.
- Assist Safety Manager in the implementation of related programs.
- Act as backup in the absence of the Safety Manager.
- Act as backup in the absence of the HR Administrative Assistant.
- Participate on various business and/or company committees.
- Assist with in-house training programs.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifications/ Basic
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or PHR certification preferred. Previous experience in a Human Resources environment preferred. Requires a working knowledge of various areas of Human Resources such as employee relations, workers’ compensation, and recruitment, and selection. Must be able to function independently and as part of a team. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure. Requires flexible working hours to accommodate all shifts.
May require occasional out of town travel. PC skills – Word, Excel, Showcase, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet.
