ANTICIPATED RATE OF PAY: $22.25 to $25.14 hourly, dependent upon qualifications, plus a comprehensive benefits package to include membership in the Arizona State Retirement System.

Position is subject to the provisions of the Merit System Rules pursuant to Arizona Law. NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in a public health setting; providing services, education, support and advocacy through public health programs to individuals, families, groups, businesses and community organizations. May perform other related work as assigned. This list is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class.
TYPICAL DUTIESSupports early childhood programs by improving health, safety, and quality. Focuses on areas of infection control, nutrition, injury prevention, and care for special needs via on-site assessments, training, coaching, and technical assistance to meet best practices and quality standards. Works closely with educators and community partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct health and safety inspections and guide programs in quality improvement plans
- Provide direct in-person and virtual support, training, and technical assistance to childcare centers throughout Cochise County
- Assist childcare facilities to develop policies, procedures and protocol that support best practices in health and safety
- Collaborate with early educators, public health and community partners
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education in a health-related field such as public health, nursing, health education, social work, behavioral health, or similar degree; minimum of one (1) year of experience working in one or multiple of the following areas: mental health, behavioral health, nutrition, health education, oral health, environmental health, and/or emergency management;
minimum one (1) year of experience working in public health, healthcare, school health, or similar setting. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and the ability to be covered by county insurance. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered.
Preference may be given to individuals with experience providing consultations and health education.
