Position: QUALITY DATA ANALYST
Location: Fort Defiance

Salary Range: $26.13 - $32.14/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement program to comply with hospital policy and procedures, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Conditions of Participation and various state and federal regulations.
  • Researches information by identifying, locating and extracting relevant data and information from varied sources in order to obtain sufficient, valid and reliable data for analysis and decision making purposes.
  • Compiles information by grouping and/or categorizing the information (i.e. in tables, spreadsheets, data files) in meaningful ways in order to facilitate analysis.
  • Analyzes information using qualitative and/or quantitative analytical methods in order to understand and draw fact-based conclusions, often from large amounts of information; identifies issues and problems requiring additional research and study and takes appropriate action to ensure sound study results.
  • Develops, designs and implements quality performance dashboards to assess and improve patient and quality care.
  • Develops and maintains an indicator database and organizes supporting documents in preparation for review by CMS.
  • Abstracts data from the electronic medical record and other sources using predetermined criteria for clinical management and performance improvement activities to comply with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements.
  • Prepares a variety of documents, adapting formats suitable to the purpose and using relevant software programs to effectively communicate information to various audiences (i.e. departmental personnel, public, governing boards etc.).
  • Interacts with a variety of individuals when participating in meetings. Provides presentation, advice and/or recommendations in order to communicate information, share ideas, present recommended solutions, gain agreement and coordinate activities.
  • Participates in the planning, coordination and presentation of specific training and educational programs as appropriate to quality improvement needs of FDIHB.
  • Participates in conferences, workshops, symposiums and lectures related to quality management.
  • Utilize programs provided by CMS and/or external reporting entities to abstract data and transmit mandatory reports to be in healthcare compliance.
  • Assists in the maintenance and organization of the Quality Services Department documentation and meeting minutes for CMS review.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Two (2) years of direct work experience.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or Quality Improvement with a focus in the area of research, data analysis and trending, quality improvement, statistics, mathematics or a related field.
