Join the Opportunity Tree team as a Direct Support Professional with our Day Programs in Maricopa, AZ. We provide individualized services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary: The DSP positions support and assist members with IDD, promoting independence, basic living skills, and personal choice.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise members’ health, safety, and security, including assistance with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and continence).
- Coordinate instruction and supervision of members in basic daily living skills and recreational activities per their Person-Centered Plan.
- Encourage members to develop and maintain positive interpersonal skills.
- Coordinate transportation and accompaniment as outlined in the Person-Centered Plan.
- Ensure proper medication procedures and physician orders are followed.
- Develop, implement, document, and monitor each member’s program.
- Communicate progress and issues in a timely manner to appropriate staff.
- Plan and maintain member and household accounts.
- Maintain all records and documentation per assigned timelines.
- Maintain a safe environment in compliance with Arizona licensing standards and Opportunity Tree policy.
- Advocate on behalf of members and families to ensure a voice for individuals with IDD.
- Perform daily duties safely, using proper lifting techniques and completing first aid/CPR as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of member information.
- Comply with attendance rules and company policies.
- Promote a collaborative and respectful working environment.
- Comply with Opportunity Tree policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- $1,000 hiring bonus for new full‑time hires, paid after 12 full pay periods (approximately six months).
- Weekend premium: $1 per hour for hours worked Saturday 12:00 a.m. – Sunday 11:59 p.m.
- Available to regular full‑time and part‑time employees.
Requirements:
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Valid driver’s license with a non‑restricted motor vehicle record.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Preferred experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) field.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and web browsing.
- Positive attitude and community representation skills.
- Team collaboration ability with members, staff, families, funders, and stakeholders.
- Completion of required training: CPR, First Aid, and Prevention and Support.
- Compliance with AZ‑DPS fingerprint clearance card requirement.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for Opportunity Tree business.
- Knowledge of staff interaction principles, task productivity, time management, problem identification, and resolution administration.
Work Environment:
- Lifting/carrying/transferring up to 40 pounds.
- Bending, kneeling, stooping, and pulling wheelchairs.
- Reaching overhead and extended reaching.
- Walking/standing/ sitting for extended periods.
- Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity.
- Position considered safety‑sensitive.
