Aboutthe Role
The Senior Accountant will oversee and manage JK Companies’ accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with leadership to support informed business decisions. This position blends hands-on accounting work with process ownership and review responsibilities.
What You Will Be DOING- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports; identify trends, variances, and insights. - General Ledger Ownership:
Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP. - Month-End & Year-End Close:
Lead close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review of transactional work. - Oversight of AP, AR, Payroll & Cash Flow:
Review and manage accounting workflows across AP, AR, invoicing, payroll, and cash flow. - Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
Monitor, improve, and document accounting processes, controls, and workflows. - Audit & Compliance Support:
Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with leadership, project teams, and external advisors to support financial operations and business planning.
- Accounting Expertise:
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices. - Analytical
Skills:
Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable insights. - Systems Proficiency:
Advanced experience with Quick Books Online and Excel, ERP and construction software. - Leadership & Ownership:
Comfortable reviewing work, setting standards, and improving processes. - Communication
Skills:
Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (senior-level or management exposure preferred)
- Experience in construction or project-based accounting strongly preferred
- Prior experience supporting audits and financial close cycles
