Overview

Our client, a recognized leader in behavioral health and substance use treatment, is expanding their mission to increase access to quality mental health services throughout New Mexico. They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to drive operational excellence across their growing portfolio of clinical and non-clinical programs.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee day-to-day operations of multiple service lines including outpatient programs, intensive outpatient services, mobile crisis teams, drop-in centers, and housing initiatives. You will work closely with the CEO to integrate clinical and business objectives, manage budgets and compliance, and build the strategic infrastructure needed to support ambitious growth plans.

The ideal candidate brings both clinical expertise and operational leadership, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. You will provide oversight to approximately 75% of the team through various supervisory layers, ensuring quality care delivery while driving organizational expansion into new counties and service areas.

Responsibilities
  • Direct daily operations across all clinical and non-clinical service lines
  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with organizational mission
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial sustainability
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards across all programs
  • Recruit, develop, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to therapists and interns
  • Design and evaluate new programs and service expansions
  • Build and maintain community partnerships and stakeholder relationships
  • Drive evidence-based practices and performance improvement initiatives
  • Lead organizational change management and foster positive culture
  • Negotiate contracts and vendor relationships
Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited program
  • Current or ability to obtain clinical licensure in New Mexico (LCSW or LPCC)
  • Proven clinical experience in Mental Health, Substance Use, and Crisis services
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience overseeing multiple programs and staff
  • Growth mindset with ability to excel in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Track record of successfully managing complex projects and driving organizational change
  • Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision
  • Strong budget management and financial stewardship skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards (CMS, BHSD, HCA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • Experience in rural healthcare settings
  • Background working in both for-profit and non-profit environments
  • Proficiency with Google Drive and Electronic Health Records systems
  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Direct, professional communication style with compassion for team members
