SummaryThe Assistant Manager assists and consults the Store Manager and oversees overall operations and administrative duties, ensuring the store’s goals are met. The Assistant Manager is knowledgeable in each product area, upholds policies and procedures, and promotes outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
- Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans to achieve departmental and overall store responsibilities such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist with overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
- Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
- Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure departmental profitability.
- Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
- Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
- Uphold quality customer service standards.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed and be trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
- Deliver extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, including assisting customers upon entry and during peak periods.
- Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
- Practice and uphold all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as listed in the operations policy manual, personnel policy manual, visual manual, customer service manual, and memos.
- Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring accurate internal controls and informing management of potential fraud risks.
Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
- 1-3 years of customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
- Team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
