POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Mechanic effectively maintains and troubleshoots aircraft systems and provides supervision and guidance to assigned personnel in the maintenance of assigned aircraft.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides personnel work assignments as well as guides, mentors and provides on-the-job instruction or training to the assigned group in related technical information job procedures, safety and general shop and hangar practices.
  • Assumes responsibility of the quality and quantity of work produced by their assigned team (crew).
  • Coordinates with the Manager and Supervisors to carry out duties in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Participates and enforces compliance with housekeeping, tool control and environmental and safety programs.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and preventative maintenance of aircraft, components, and equipment.
  • Monitors the status of the aircraft in-work and coordinates efforts with the Maintenance Manager and subordinate personnel.
  • Assist in researching and requisitioning of aircraft parts and components in determining the serviceability of parts and components in question.
  • Reviews aircraft records to ensure that required maintenance has been performed and that all associated documentation has been completed.
  • Follows technical data, manuals, regulations, and other maintenance directives as required.
  • Determines airworthiness of aircraft and components IAW Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Demonstrates behavior in accordance to company policies and guidelines.
  • Demonstrates a high level of focus on customer service and operational awareness.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must have in-depth knowledge of Boeing aircraft. Ability to read, write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions. Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    This position requires a high school diploma or GED certificate. Must hold a valid Airframe and Powerplant license. Must have seven (7) or more years of heavy maintenance experience on large commercial aircraft. Recent aircraft maintenance supervisory / lead experience is desired. Maintenance experience on corporate aircraft is also desired.

    LANGUAGE ABILITY

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Excellent communication skills with customers and employees.

    MATH ABILITY

    This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY

    The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Microsoft Office; including components of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Database, inventory, and order processing software.

    Valid A&P License

    Valid Driver's License

    • May work inside or outside of maintenance hangar.
    • This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Ability to work various shifts which may include evening and weekend hours.
