Assistant District Attorney – Child Support
Position Title: Full‑Time ADA/Managing Attorney – Child Support Services
Location: District 20 Child Support Services Division Office, Ardmore, OK
Status: Full‑Time, Immediate Opening
Salary: Starting salary $85,000, commensurate with experience. Open until filled.
Minimum Qualifications- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the State of Oklahoma and membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association.
- Minimum four (4) years of legal experience.
- Strong writing and research skills, and ability to effectively communicate and work with law enforcement, elected officials, attorneys, and other agencies.
- Must pass a fingerprint and background check with no criminal history.
- Job‑related travel required to attend in‑person court hearings monthly in each of the five counties. Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain required car insurance.
- Primary responsibility as Managing Attorney for a CSS office.
- Preparation and filing of pleadings and trial of cases in child support related hearings in district and administrative courts; train and assist staff with preparation of legal documents and ensure compliance with ethical considerations.
- Consultation and negotiation with other attorneys and customers of Oklahoma Child Support Services, and interpretation of laws, regulations, opinions of the court and policy.
- Duties include directing the legal activities of the office, supervising the preparation of cases for court, representing the agency in the most complex cases, involvement in all aspects of the establishment and enforcement of child support orders.
- The Managing Attorney deals directly with state and federal officials and is highly knowledgeable of subject matter in areas of specific responsibility and works independently in the management and direct of the most complex matters.
- The attorney represents the State of Oklahoma in both district and administrative court proceedings.
