About

the Role

We are seeking two (2) highly-motivated individuals to work on technology and process development activities within our Electrical Process Development Group at the Boston Scientific Arden Hills facility. These Senior Process Engineer – Electrical Test roles are positions in a growing segment of our business that is responsible for delivering best‑in‑class technologies and processes to support both internal and external divisions with products ranging from pulse generators, ablation and diagnostic catheters, and mapping and navigation systems to diagnostic devices and equipment.

These positions will be responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support and expertise in the definition, design, development, integration, and test of products. In addition, these positions will develop capable technologies and processes to ensure efficient and effective transfer of product into production.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and innovate and implement process improvements on multiple and moderately complex processes
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, fixturing, and/or automation
  • Execute the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems
  • Write clean and concise work instructions that can be understood by product builders
  • Prepare and present technical data and recommendations at technical reviews
  • Write validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., Requirements, BOMs, Validation Plans and Reports, FMEAs, etc.)
  • Oversee development builds associated with the project using special work requests
  • Develop qualified production lines
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) input to the engineering print package
  • Partner cross‑functionally to develop design specifications, test methods, and material selection
  • Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions
  • Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation
  • May serve as core team member or extended team member on new product projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with electrical focus
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role, or minimum of 3 years of professional engineering experience relevant to this role with an advanced degree
  • Programming experience (for example, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, Python, etc.)
  • Demonstrated engineering fundamentals (LEAN, DFM, etc.) and problem‑solving skills
  • Demonstrated cross‑functional teamwork in a technically demanding environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Software and systems experience; equipment and fixturing design
  • Process Development, equipment validations, and process characterization experience
  • Experience with schematic and circuit board layout (for example Altium, Cadence)
  • Experience with Design Analysis Testing (DAT) and Design Verification Testing (DVT)
  • Hands‑on mechanical aptitude
  • Data driven individual; statistical analysis experience
  • Prior experience in medical device industry or similar highly‑regulated industry
  • Demonstrated use of Design for Six Sigma tools (Design of Experiments, problem solving)
  • Experience in New Product Development
