JOB DESCRIPTION

6S/General Utility Employee

The General Utility Employee performs custodial work in warehouses, industrial areas and other building interiors.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.

Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures.

Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas. May remove stains from such surfaces as walls and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.

May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.

No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

The 6S/General Utility Employee performs work in a manufacturing setting. Is primarily responsible for the cleaning of warehouse and industrial areas.

Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting up to 50 pounds.

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 6am-2pm; weekend work may be required from a business necessity.

Job-related and consistent with business necessity.

Ability to drive forklifts a plus.
