Salary:
The base hourly pay range for this position is $24.60 - $25.96. If you are hired, your base pay rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. We also consider internal equity as part of any final offer.
Shift:
One Day Shift & One Night Shift Opening
- Review material processing paperwork and oversee the retrieval and staging of material to be run on the CTL; this paperwork will also generate the required PVC / covering and pallets (paperwork system based on AS400).
- Starting with coils, ensure staging is in order, transfer to the scale for weight/thickness confirmation, load on the transfer cart and mount onto the un-coiler mandrel (a separate control stand is used for coil mounting).
- Coordinate material feed into the leveler for flattening, then start the PVC or paper interleaf as required; feed material into the shear and through exit conveyors to the stacker (controlled with a second main control panel).
- Process material through the leveler and shear based on the material order paperwork, while observing for any irregularities from a functional and quality perspective.
- For each coil, measure length and squareness as dictated by customer requirements and standards; thickness has already been measured and recorded during coil mounting.
- Evaluate the leading and trailing edges of the coil for flatness and process accordingly for scrap, along with other issues encountered during processing.
- Oversee the pallet build list and ensure proper pallets are staged or built to enable palletization based on customer orders, including special customer requirements reviewed and adhered to without deviation unless approved prior to processing.
- After processing and palletizing, apply the appropriate labels on pallets as generated by AS400 paperwork and update material/order information in AS400.
- Based on business needs, be prepared to work in other areas of the facility to support customer demand issues.
- Report any non-conformances with material/packaging items or abnormalities with equipment function to supervision immediately.
- Maintain a safe, clean working environment and support other operators with general duties associated with the line/equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules/regulations and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Basic understanding of company and customer requirements for material quality and ISO certification; proficient in the use of tape measures and taper/feeler gauges.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience running a cut-to-length line.
- High school education and prior experience running CTL.
- Capable of reading, writing and speaking English.
- Proficiency using AS400.
- Proficiency using RF Scanner.
- Experience operating all equipment safely and effectively, including certification for forklifts and overhead cranes, plus miscellaneous electric, pneumatic, and manual hand tools.
- Reaching overhead; pushing and pulling with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) occasionally, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 lbs (11.3 kg).
- Spends 80% of the day standing and moving around; bending, stooping, and pushing.
