Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting & Finance

Chesapeake Search Partners is seeking a Controller for a client in Halethorpe, MD. This role is for a driven and efficient finance leader who will own, manage, and improve all Finance operations. This role reports directly to the CFO and will be a leader for the team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance KPI reporting
• Support Finance teammates to find efficiencies
• Develop accounting consolidation models to support acquisitions
• Forecast cash flows and manage liquidity through growth
• Oversee bank reconciliations, journal entries, reclassifications and account reviews
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation scheduled, and related accounting policies
• Review A/R and A/P aging reports and partner with teammates to drive positive cash flow
• Implement process improvements, automation, and internal controls
• Function as the primary accounting contact for external auditors and tax advisors
• Prepare audit schedules, tax support, and requested documentation

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in Finance/FP&A/Accounting
• Expertise in Excel
• Expertise in Quick Books
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers.
