Position Overview

The

CMM Programmer

provides critical quality support to engineering and production through advanced

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

programming and inspection. This role works closely with engineers, inspectors, supervisors, and production teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and ensure products meet strict customer and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do

Write and maintain

CMM programs

based on customer and company specifications

Troubleshoot CMM software and coordinate with outside technical support as needed

Assist engineers with qualification and validation of new or revised tooling and parts

Prepare detailed inspection documentation, including deviations from engineering specifications

Write, update, and improve

quality procedures

Perform visual and dimensional inspections at various stages of production

Ensure all customer specifications and quality standards are met

Identify defects such as scratches, burrs, surface finish issues, and dimensional variances

Notify leads and production teams of quality issues and assist with root cause and corrective actions

Train and guide personnel on the efficient use of inspection equipment

Quarantine non-conforming parts and manage disposition

Complete all required quality records and inspection documentation

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

(Required)

Associate’s Degree (Preferred)

Experience Qualifications

2+ years of experience in quality inspection

(Required)

3+ years of experience operating and/or programming CMMs

and other inspection methodologies (Preferred)

Knowledge & Skills That Enable Success

Basic knowledge of

CMM programming

Working experience with

GD&T

Working experience with

metrology and inspection tools

Working knowledge of

Quality Management Systems

Extensive accuracy and attention to detail

Basic knowledge of

ISO 9001

Physical Demands

Frequent standing and movement throughout the facility

Constant handling, inspecting, and positioning of parts and equipment

Frequent repetitive inspection and measurement tasks

Ability to distinguish writing, measurements, and defects continuously

Occasional positioning under, around, or over equipment
