Key Responsibilities- Diagnose issues, perform system upgrades, manage inventories of technical equipment, and assist with software installations and updates.
- Provide diagnostic review, repair, and replacement of parts as well as the replacement and installation of equipment.
- Use electronic testing equipment and electronic theory to troubleshoot and identify malfunctioning or inoperative equipment in systems such as CCTV, Fire Alarm, Burglar Alarm, Card Access, Paging, Structured Cabling and any future systems supported in the Technology Division.
- Maintain customer relationships and provide value-added services through effective communication.
- Manage service workflows, including reviewing work orders, job files, drawings, specifications and other technical data for efficient service, inspections and installations.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, safety requirements, construction methods and related codes across industrial, commercial and residential building types.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of new installations and service completions.
- Assist with maintaining customer relationships based on dependability and honesty; bridge communications between customer personnel and Suburban’s team members.
- Operate in all building types and customer markets; maintain GMPs and safety requirements as required, know construction methods and related codes in each area of industry.
- Establish service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing resolution; performing acceptance tests and commissioning.
- Review work orders and job files for all pertinent data including job layout drawings, specifications and other technical data to improve service efficiency, inspections and installations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with electronics and/or low voltage systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Must be certified in CPR and First Aid or able to obtain certification shortly after the start date.
- NFPA
70E training. - Ability to drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Understand the functionality of computer systems and network devices.
- Understand the mechanical functionality of equipment.
- Apply NFPA
70E, NEC and NFPA codes to the work environment and equipment. - Advanced power tool utilization.
- Advanced data and security device knowledge.
- Troubleshoot processes and systems.
- Defuse conflict effectively; communicate responses to customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication with team members, customers and vendors at all levels.
- Certifications such as BICSI, Low Voltage Technician certifications or NICET.
- Knowledge of local, state and national building codes, safety protocols and industry regulations for low voltage installations.
- Skills in diagnosing and repairing low voltage system malfunctions.
- Experience managing or assisting with low voltage system installations, ensuring on-time completion and adherence to specifications.
- Comfort working in residential, commercial and industrial sites, including confined spaces and outdoor environments.
- Basic networking knowledge and ability to work with network-based devices (IP cameras, access control systems).
