Seasonal - Cashier​/Concessionaire - Pools

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Follow proper concession policies and procedures including opening and closing, product preparation, and cash handling
• Operate cash register computers and point of sale operating system while following cash handling policies and procedures with credit card and cash transactions
• Collect concession fees from patrons; record additional transactions as needed
• Prepare food in a safe and clean manner and maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety with food preparation and storage, equipment, and dispensers in accordance with Health Department guidelines
• Serve concessions in a safe and properly prepared manner
• Perform start-up and take-down of concession related equipment
• Sell daily admission into the pools
• Sell summer swim passes to patrons
• Inform and enforce rules of the facility
• Monitor carry-ins from patrons
• Sell and stock concession products
• Receive deliveries of concession products
• Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities
• Assists Concessions Manager/Pool Manager with daily deposits
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of concession related areas (including but not limited to food preparation and ordering/serving area, outside areas, utensils and equipment, and food storage) throughout the day as well as at the end of the shift

• Be at the facility, in uniform and ready to work, at the designated start of the work shift
• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationship with fellow staff members, management staff, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings
• Legibly and accurately calculate individual payroll.
• Work closely with the Parks and Recreation Department staff to ensure all department and City of Appleton rules, policies, and procedures are observed and enforced
• Report directly to and perform any other duties as assigned by Concessions Manager

• Minimum of 15 years of age
• Have experience and/or ability in working with money
• Ability to make general arithmetic computations accurately and with reasonable speed
• Ability and/or experience to work with varied age groups, including children
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability to work duration of program assigned by supervisor
• Shall wear Parks and Recreation staff uniform per the City of Appleton dress code
