Seasonal - Concessions Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Manage and supervise assigned facility and staff during work hours (including but not limited to security, cleanliness, and safety).
• Train staff on proper concession policies and procedures including opening and closing, product preparation, cleaning, and cash handling.
• Order concession product and supplies when needed.
• Sell and stock concession products.
• Receive deliveries of concession products.
• Prepare food in a safe and clean manner and maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety with food preparation, equipment and dispensers.
• Serve concessions and maintain concession area(s) and storage cleanliness in accordance with Health Department guidelines.
• Perform start up and take down of concession related equipment.
• Coordination and planning of maintenance procedures for before, during, and after open hours.
• Effectively manage point of sale operating system which includes touch screen maintenance, product inventory, credit card and cash transactions.
• Responsible for cash handling procedures including daily monetary transactions and deposits at facility as well as determining need for change and obtaining from the bank.
• Complete necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities.
• Provide high level of leadership to staff.
• Develop staff schedules to include daily programming, maintenance, special events, and other programming.
• Complete staff evaluations and meet to discuss with employees.
• Initiate communication to management staff, including pool and co- managers daily regarding concerns, safety, needs, successes, and functional support.

• Be at the facility, in uniform and ready to work, at the designated start of the work shift.
• Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationship with fellow staff members, management staff, and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Maintain inventory of concessions, supplies, and equipment.
• Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
• Work closely with the Parks and Recreation Department staff to ensure all department and City of Appleton rules, policies, and procedures are observed and enforced.
• Report directly to and perform any other duties as assigned by Recreation Supervisor.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Ability to effectively coordinate and direct the overall operation of concessions including staffing and maintenance.
• Ability to operate point of sale operating system and food equipment dispensers.
• Have experience and/or ability in working with money.
• Strong skills in: customer service, oral and written communication, and leadership.
• Ability and/ or experience to work with varied age groups, including children.
• Effective decision-making skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work the duration of program assigned.
• Shall wear Park and Recreation staff uniform per the City of Appleton dress code.
