You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Bio Life Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.
Aboutthe Role
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and the Center Physician. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection regulations and manufacturing environments and supports center‑level environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives.
HowYou Will Contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, HIV education, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs, including standing orders from the Center Physician and transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or technical issues regarding donor safety and eligibility.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER for further evaluation.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate education from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $31.92 – $43.89
