Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading local hunger-relief organization in the state with locations in Milwaukee and Appleton. Founded in 1982 by the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is a local and independent member of the Feeding America network. Driven by our mission to solve hunger, we are bringing more people together around the table to collaboratively address the root causes of hunger.

Together with our network partners, we serve nearly half a million food-insecure people across 35 counties in eastern Wisconsin each year.

The Development Manager is responsible for soliciting and securing major individual and corporate gifts from donors and prospects within Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s footprint. This elevated role within the development department oversees the Philanthropy Managers in their region. The position includes managing donor relationships by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding them.

• Maintain a portfolio of a minimum of 100 individual and corporate donors and prospects by proactively creating and implementing strategies to prospect, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with the capacity to make major gifts to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Individual will be expected to prospect and add new donors annually to their portfolio.
• Create and execute a personal fundraising plan for donors in their portfolio and refresh annually
• Develop customized strategies and moves management plans for donors in portfolio.
• Incorporate planned giving asks into the overall strategy for individual donors and trustees
• Deliver on agreed upon individual and team performance targets.
• Engage donors in meetings; with an expectation to hold 3-5 donor meetings weekly in person and/or via phone/video conference.
• Write customized proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports for major individual donors
• Plan strategy and capture notes and next steps in Raiser’s Edge database.
• Meet regularly with Development Leadership to assess plans, review strategies and track progress.
• Support events and campaigns.
• Contribute to the development of donor solicitation and marketing materials
• Serve as spokesperson for the organization through public speaking, networking events, check presentations, professional development opportunities and donor meetings.
• This position supervises the Major Gift Officers in their assigned region of the FAEW footprint.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Commitment to understand and support FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes.
• Respect for the people FAEW serves and commitment to learn the causes of their food insecurity and need.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
• CFRE and membership in AFP a plus.
• A minimum two years of experience in a nonprofit or sales environment, specifically with experience with personal solicitations and/or direct involvement with annual fundraising.
• Demonstrated successful experience in securing major gift fundraising and developing strong relationships with donors.
• Proven track record of achieving revenue related goals.
• Demonstrated ability to drive growth by bringing in and renewing new funding partners.
• Technology and computer literacy is essential. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and fundraising database experience (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT) is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• A positive, team‑oriented mindset with a "can‑do" approach to supporting the organization, demonstrating cross‑functional collaboration and a focus on developing solutions.
• Ability to work safely following FAEW safety procedures.
• Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be open‑minded of differing opinions and views.
• Valid WI driver’s license, good driving record, and meet State required automobile insurance minimums.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
