Forklift Mechanic

Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in paper conversion, is seeking a Forklift Mechanic to join their dedicated team. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will be an essential part of the maintenance department supporting the operational efficiency of the facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong mechanical skills, a proactive approach to troubleshooting, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Forklift Mechanic

Location: Appleton, WI

Pay Range:

Shift: Day Shift (6am - 2pm), Monday through Friday, with flexible options available

What's the Job?

• Perform routine maintenance on all powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) including forklifts, roll clamps, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, following manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance and safety of equipment.
• Conduct thorough inspections of PIVs to proactively identify and address potential problems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory for each piece of equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize repair tasks, minimize downtime, and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.

What's Needed?

• Experience maintaining forklifts, roll clamps, or similar powered industrial vehicles (preferred but entry-level candidates with mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, light replacements, and greasing.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Excellent record-keeping skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
