Responsibilities
  • Live the Voith Values and set an example of teamwork, positivity, inclusion, and collaboration.
  • Ensure employees follow all safety expectations and rules. Coach for performance.
  • Conduct preliminary safety investigations and communications for any accidents in accordance with protocol.
  • Participate in teams that improve safety programs.
  • Serve as the on-shift incident commander for fire and emergency response.
  • Ensure operators understand and follow quality procedures and expectations. Coach for performance.
  • Ensure Non-Conformances are documented correctly and next steps for any nonconforming product is clear.
  • Escalate difficult quality issues to Department Manager or Quality Department.
  • Understand and monitor the daily schedule in each department to ensure compliance.
  • Adjust as necessary to meet shift or customer service objectives as necessary.
  • Understand and monitor the expected versus actual output KPIs for each department.
  • Manage and balance labor across departments on assigned shift to achieve shift objectives.
  • Audit compliance to TPMs.
  • Maintain housekeeping expectations.
  • Ensure MES/JDE transactions are accurate.
  • Participate in daily shop floor walk in each department.
  • Attend daily production meeting.
  • Participate in the hiring process.
  • Ensure payroll and attendance rules are followed.
  • Work with Payroll to correct any discrepancies.
  • Compose/write all hourly employee performance reviews. Submit to Department Manager for additional input/feedback.
  • Provide routine coaching to all operators. Provide recognition and disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Facilitate effective shift handoffs via accurate shift reports and handoff meetings.
  • Assist in training/onboarding new Supervisors.
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is desired.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess good mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with emergency response a plus.
