. This position will oversee the House Supervisor, Direct Access, and Staffing Resources departments, operating out of Appleton, WI with no large amount of travel required.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Effectively manage team members in accordance with Theda Care policies and values, ensuring recruitment and retention of competent staff to meet departmental needs.
- Account for daily activities and work processes, ensuring quality outcomes.
- Oversee and ensure accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices.
- Uphold and model mission, vision, and values, and help staff understand how their work contributes to Theda Care strategy.
- Develop quality‑improvement processes, including goals and performance measurements, leading teams to excellence.
- Build collaborative relationships with the care team and other departments.
- Ensure staff are properly trained and informed of procedures, policies, and processes that promote high reliability, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Provide mentoring and opportunities for growth to help team members meet professional goals.
- Manage daily staffing plans to meet productivity standards and patient needs, and work with the director on budget actions and variances, contributing to the annual budget and long‑term cost‑effective care decisions.
- Demonstrate proactive risk management to prevent crises.
- Provide strategic direction to maximize staffing resources, consulting with leaders on FTE commitments, schedule balance, and consistent policy utilization.
- Anticipate patient flow, oversee placement from all entry points, and collaborate with physicians and leaders to prioritize admissions.
- Optimize analytics to provide actionable data that improves future staffing plans.
- Oversee scheduling technology solutions, ensuring system efficiencies, and participate in research to improve functionality.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
- Five years of progressive responsibility in a healthcare setting.
- Three years of leadership experience, including leading teams and/or projects.
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling), lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
- Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nursing care.
- Move through hospital departments and floors on a daily basis.
- Frequent exposure to sharp instruments.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electric shock.
- Occasional high noise level.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
- Stand or walk for extended periods.
- Transport, transfer, and position patients and equipment using proper body mechanics.
- Occasional contact with aggressive or combative patients.
- Frequent sitting and use of computers throughout the workday.
