Overview

Human Resources Manager (Operations Business Unit) – Yaskawa America, Inc. Drives & Motion Division. Full-time position based in Wisconsin. Negotiable salary.

We are seeking an Operations Business Unit HR Manager (BUHRM). The BUHRM will sit on the executive staff of the business unit and act as a strategic partner and advisor to align HR policies and practices with business objectives. This role provides guidance on the full spectrum of human resources services, policies and practices and associate relations matters, and is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies to support talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee relations, and diversity, equity & inclusion.

This is a hands-on role supporting associates, projects, and all HR aspects in the assigned business unit. The BUHRM will lead 3-4 HR staff, ensuring high-quality service, with travel between Buffalo Grove, IL (1 day) and Oak Creek/Franklin, WI (4 days) manufacturing and distribution facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Support current and future business needs through development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics and reporting.
  • Build organization design models based on current and future business needs.
  • Bridge management and associate relations by addressing concerns or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process for the assigned business unit.
  • Plan for developmental training, assignments, mentor assignments, and career paths to ensure appropriate skill sets within the business.
  • Create career paths within the assigned business unit and review opportunities for cross-pollination of talent to meet developmental needs.
  • Design individual development plans for the business unit and monitor effectiveness of training or developmental assignments.
  • Develop and monitor HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Maintain pay plans and perform market analyses to ensure compensation competitiveness.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout the assigned business unit.
  • Foster a positive working environment aligned with Yaskawa’s values, including diversity, equity and inclusion for all associates.
  • Act as a change leader.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required;
    Master’s Degree in Human Resources and SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required.
  • 5-10 years of HR experience within an engineering-centric organization, with at least 2 years partnering with executive leadership.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
  • Experience leading people is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of P&L, financial statements, sales cycles and market strategies, and a desire to learn the technology aspects of the BU.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to set priorities and work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriate.

  • Prompt and thorough response to associate and teammate requests; solicit feedback to improve service.
