- Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information, significant reportable elements, and complications
- Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement
- Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies
- Assign codes for reimbursement; research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing guidelines
- Research and facilitate a plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of financial and protected patient files
- Physician credentialing
- Serve as coding consultant to staff and providers
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- CPC, CCSP, RIT or similar certification required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
- Availability for full‑time hours (40/week)
