Caregiver Appleton

Overview

A wonderful family in the Appleton, WI area is seeking a part-time caregiver in Appleton for their son with disabilities. This position is vital in supporting this young man in his home. The ideal candidate provides hands-on personal care assistance and works with an individual who is non-verbal.

• Wednesday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bonus points if you have flexibility; there may be more hours available and possibly turn into full time.

• Pay: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour based on experience

• Provide one-on-one engagement and supervision
• Support personal care and hygiene
• Assist with meal prep and feeding
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
• Support daily routines and activities
• Accompany the individual and family to appointments or community outings
• Remain steady, supportive, and compassionate during moments of escalation

• Experience working with autistic individuals or those with high support needs
• Ability to manage physically intense behaviors safely and respectfully
• Strong communication and redirection skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physically able to assist with safety and daily care
• Prior caregiving experience required
• Kind and friendly, reliable and dependable
• Flexible with scheduling, self-starter
• Able to pass a Wisconsin background check
• Experience working with individuals with high support needs

Community Horizons provides support to individuals and families enrolled in self-directed care programs across Wisconsin, including services through Managed Care Organizations, IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct), and the Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) program.
