Overview
A wonderful family in the Appleton, WI area is seeking a part-time caregiver in Appleton for their son with disabilities. This position is vital in supporting this young man in his home. The ideal candidate provides hands-on personal care assistance and works with an individual who is non-verbal.
Schedule- Wednesday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Bonus points if you have flexibility; there may be more hours available and possibly turn into full time.
- Pay: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour based on experience
- Provide one-on-one engagement and supervision
- Support personal care and hygiene
- Assist with meal prep and feeding
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment
- Support daily routines and activities
- Accompany the individual and family to appointments or community outings
- Remain steady, supportive, and compassionate during moments of escalation
- Experience working with autistic individuals or those with high support needs
- Ability to manage physically intense behaviors safely and respectfully
- Strong communication and redirection skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physically able to assist with safety and daily care
- Prior caregiving experience required
- Kind and friendly, reliable and dependable
- Flexible with scheduling, self-starter
- Able to pass a Wisconsin background check
- Experience working with individuals with high support needs
Community Horizons provides support to individuals and families enrolled in self-directed care programs across Wisconsin, including services through Managed Care Organizations, IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct), and the Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) program. Self-direction allows participants to make their own choices, selecting who provides their care and how those services are delivered.
