Level 2 Field Technician

Position:
Level 2/3 Field Technician - Telecomm

Location: ONSITE in Appleton Wisconsin

Duration: Contract - 2 weeks to start, 9/17/24 - 9/30/24, potential to work another 2-4 weeks on similar assignment in Wisconsin in October.

Overview:

Need 10 L2 & L3 Field Tech resources in Wisconsin to support a large telephony, infrastructure, & software/hardware refresh project at hospital site.

SITE SURVEY - Onsite working as a team walking the floors of a hospital facility, identifying where all telecom devices are, working with healthcare clinicians who have little time to help us understand the layout (there's a switch or telecom device stuck in a drawer or hidden in a closet).

THIS REQUIRES A LEVEL 2 PRO, THIS PIECE CAN NOT GO WORNG - this info and what they feed into phase goes downstream to a lot of other people and processes, this needs highly accurate. Sometimes they'll need someone to help LEAD A TEAM versus just being a member, something to keep in mind.

L2 & L3 SKILLSETS:

• L2 - Mid Level: Wall field knowledge would be preferred. Comfortable taking direction and following defined processes.
• L3 - Senior Level: A field tech who can act in a supervisory role if called upon. They know their way around a switch room and closet to identify potential issues with installing new Avaya equipment. Has the skill to run cross-connects and simple cabling between the equipment and the wall field in the switch room. Knows the inner connectivity of wiring between switch and endpoint-someone who has Avaya knowledge and can rack and stack servers and gateways.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Field Technician experience - telecomm software/hardware, switch rooms and endpoints, wall fields, etc.
• Comfortable taking direction and following defined processes.
• Can act in a supervisory role if called upon.

Highly Preferred:

• Know their way around a switch room and closet to identify potential issues with installing new Avaya equipment.
• Has the skill to run cross-connects and simple cabling between the equipment and the wall field in the switch room.
• Knows the inner connectivity of wiring between switch and endpoint-someone who has Avaya knowledge and can rack and stack servers and gateways.
