This job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States, put preferably someone in the Eastern or Central time zone. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.

We're looking for a highly ambitious and focused Mechanical Designer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our client’s business. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide by providing a range of services.

Join us and you'll collaborate on advanced facilities projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. You'll work on projects at some of the world’s most state of the art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive team who successfully deliver on equipment design, specification, selection, technical evaluation of vendor equipment offerings/submittals, and mechanical review of vendor equipment drawings for conformance with design criteria.

You’ll review and evaluate the desired goal of the system and develop machine design concepts and drawings, and/or select the required equipment, perform calculations and evaluations of the equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications.

To be successful in this position you must have a passion for innovation, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as you support activities ensuring construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements. We’ll depend on your excellent communication skills and eagerness to contribute to ensure and maintain effective communication with project team members and with our clients as you participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design
  • At least 8-10 years history in the practical application of mechanical engineering, especially related to process equipment design and functionality
  • Experience and certified on 3D parametric design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor)

The base salary range for this position is $80,600.00 to $; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
