Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2026. Applicants should hold a PhD in biology or related discipline and be interested in working closely with undergraduate students. Responsibilities include teaching BIOL 130:
Cellular Form and Function, BIOL 260:
Genetics, and an upper-level course(s) in the candidate's area of expertise. The teaching load is two non-lab courses or one course with two lab sections per trimester on a 10-week trimester calendar. Laboratory space, funds to support research, and support for professional development will be available. Candidates should submit the following at (1) a cover letter describing their interest in this position, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) a statement of teaching explaining their pedagogical methods and teaching experiences, (4) unofficial graduate transcripts, and (5) names and contact information for three individuals who can be solicited for letters of recommendation at a later stage in the search process (at least one of whom can attest specifically to teaching).
