OverviewAdjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the on-going development of instructional strategies that promote student success.
Responsibilities- Teaching and learning facilitation:
Foster student learning by developing instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and engagement. Use multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize success, including hybrid, in-person, virtual, and online course delivery. - Assessment:
Assess student learning and provide regular feedback; use data to measure course outcomes and implement improvement strategies based on evidence. - Classroom Management:
Maintain assigned schedule, attendance and grade records; ensure a safe and effective instructional environment and opportunities for student engagement evaluation. - Team Participation:
Collaborate with the department and stay current with internal and external changes and initiatives. - Business & Community Engagement:
Build relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners; proactively promote the College and programs. - Student Success & Support:
Serve as an advocate for students; collaborate with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and support student success. - Professional Development:
Pursue ongoing professional development; maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure to support accreditation. - Curriculum Development:
Develop competency-based, current instructional materials aligned with employer expectations and college documentation standards.
Education and/or
Experience:
- Associate degree or the degree/licensure level at which the adjunct instructor is teaching (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 4,000 hours in the field within the last five years; five years of occupational experience preferred.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Qualified per FVTC requirements at the time of and throughout employment as an instructor.
- Must meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job-specific licensing standards.
- Wisconsin Registered Dental Hygienist license is required.
- Clinical documentation requirements must be met and maintained.
- Adapt quickly to changing demands and circumstances to meet student needs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences.
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including curriculum development.
- Background check will be conducted prior to hire. Information from the background check will be considered in determining suitability.
In evaluating candidates, FVTC may consider a combination of education, training, and experience to perform the duties of the position.

Ability to stand for extended periods and to sit for grading and administrative tasks. - Lifting and Carrying:

Skills:
Dexterity for writing, demonstrations, and use of instructional technology. - Visual Acuity:
Ability to read course materials and assess student work. - Health and Safety:
Ability to maintain a safe learning environment and follow safety protocols. - Travel:
May require off-site teaching or travel for professional development. - Repetitive Motions:
Capacity for repetitive tasks such as typing. - Communication:
Clear verbal and written communication with stakeholders.

Additional Information- Hourly pay rate: $45.00. Pay is based on factors including experience, qualifications, education, certifications, internal equity, and market data.
