About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Strategic Sourcing Analyst – Indirect Materials & Equipment to join our team in Waukesha. In this role, you will lead strategic sourcing initiatives that support operational excellence across the organization. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong supplier and internal relationships, and is passionate about driving cost savings, improving supply performance, and supporting continuous improvement.
You will work cross‑functionally with departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, IT, HR, Marketing, Finance, Quality, and more, providing sourcing leadership for indirect materials, MRO, services, and equipment.
What You’ll Do- Analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier capabilities to identify savings opportunities.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support cost, quality, availability, and inventory targets.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing priorities.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, and delivery requirements with suppliers.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and support VMI programs.
- Review MRP data and issue purchase orders for MRO materials to support plant operations.
- Follow up on open orders, reschedules, cancellations, and expedited requests.
- Support shop-floor needs, helping ensure that indirect materials, PPE, tools, and equipment arrive on time.
- Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high levels of communication across teams and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Handle confidential data with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — able to collaborate with ME, operations, and multiple internal customers who rely on indirect materials and services.
- Experience working with MRP systems (SAP preferred).
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to compare quotes, analyze requirements, and support sourcing decisions.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of sourcing strategy, supplier evaluation, and procurement best practices.
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing key supplier relationships.
- Strong process analysis and documentation skills.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of three - five years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- APICS, CPMS, Six Sigma, or related certifications.
